Homemade bacon bleu cheese burgers & mojitos to satisfy a craving.
Lots of house cleaning left our room feeling very peaceful…
…no pun intended. There’s nothing better than a cleared off surface to start your week.
The rest of our time was filled with the Olympics, but of course. Lots of yelling and cheering for Mara Abbott, Katie Ledecky, Lilly King, Chris Miller and Simone Biles (or, rather, the entire women’s gymnastics team because DAMN they are good).
As you can see, this weekend was pretty relaxing. I did a ton of cleaning around our poor neglected house, checked some boring things off the list (like posting items for sale online), and watched a lot of the Olympics. Forget Netflix, the Olympics are absolutely taking over my life until they’re over. What’s your favorite event to watch? I enjoy swimming, track & gymnastics, but even the most random events can suck me in. It’s so incredible and inspiring to watch these athletes from all over the world with such raw talent and who have worked so hard at this one thing for so long. I do have to laugh at myself for baking brownies and lying on the couch while admiring their athleticism though ;)
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, and are ready for Monday. Here’s a few links from last week I think you’ll enjoy…
+ Why one woman doesn’t do a capsule wardrobe (Darling Magazine)
+ A long and thoughtful piece on the dark side of minimalism. While I don’t entirely agree with it, or see minimalism in the same way, it’s a great piece. (NY Times)
+ Andrea discusses the three things that are keeping you from purchasing ethically-made clothes & how to overcome them. So useful, I know I’ll be returning to it. (Seasons & Salt)
