Once again, I’ve been slowly adding to my collection of natural beauty products. I’m still in the middle of swapping conventional, chemical-laden products out for greener, safer ones. I’m still trying different concealers to find the best one (does it even exist?) and figuring out what works. Here’s a few recent additions.
Andalou Naturals: This is still my favorite natural skincare brand. I absolutely love each product I’ve tried so far (they make my favorite daytime face lotion and hand lotion). In need of a new face wash recently, I decided to try one of theirs. I picked up the Citrus Kombucha Cleansing Gel. There’s nothing super groundbreaking about this, but it gets my skin really clean and smells so vibrant. I’ve only been using it a week, so I can’t speak to how well it will work with keeping my skin clear, but I really like it so far.
100% Pure: I figured I should try eye cream. I’ve never used it before, but everyone is always dragging on about your eyes being so sensitive, so I found one. After a little bit of hunting, I ordered the 100% Pure Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream. This eye cream makes lots of promises about depuffing, banishing dark circles, reducing fine lines, etc. So far, I haven’t noticed a huge difference, but I’ve only been using it a couple weeks. I do like how it feels – it sinks in quickly and smells a little bit like coffee which is nice.
Juice Beauty: I am really getting into skincare, and was looking for some type of chemical exfoliant to help clear my pores and blackheads (ew, right?) I had heard amazing wonderful reviews for the Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel and I have to concur! I use this once or twice a week and I definitely find that my skin is brighter and just generally feels better the next morning. It does sting a little bit while wearing it, but I don’t find my skin reacting poorly or becoming red after using it. I am using the sensitive formula, and might switch to full strength after I finish this one.
W3LL People: I’m forever on the hunt for a killer natural concealer. Its hard to find. I have the craziest darkest under eye circles you’ll ever see, and nothing covers them up. The W3LL People Bio-Correct Multi-Action Concealer is one of the best all-natural concealer I’ve found so far though! It’s really creamy and blendable, with a good amount of coverage. Definitely a good one to have in the ol’ makeup bag, but still not holy grail status for me (just because of my pesky dark circles; if that isn’t an issue for you, then this will do you just fine.) I use the color Light.
Honest Beauty: I was running low on foundation and also on the hunt for new eyeshadow in a smaller package than my big palettes. For a while, I’ve been intrigued by the Honest Beauty products and wanted to give them a try. They have an option to order a bundle, which is any 3 products for $50, which is cheaper than buying any of the products individually. I picked up the Honest Beauty Cream Foundation in Linen Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer in Cream and Eyeshadow Trio in Sable Brown. Honest Beauty is not 100% organic and clean, but they’re making strides in the mainstream beauty industry towards cleaner products, which I appreciate.
The cream foundation is a favorite, and feels really good on my skin. It’s not too dry (which I’m always afraid of with pressed products) and offers medium-full coverage that still looks natural – my freckles show through! The eyeshadow is really great, nice and creamy and pigmented. However, the ingredients aren’t perfect, so I don’t know if I’ll repurchase. Still trying to find that perfect natural eyeshadow. The tinted moisturizer is thicker than most I’ve used, but it still offers comfortable sheer coverage, perfect for weekends.
Have you tried any new natural skincare or makeup products? I’d love to hear what you love and have tried!
