This weekend, I’m headed to Truckee, California (Bryce’s hometown, just north of Lake Tahoe) for the 4th of July! I can’t wait – it’s been almost 3 years since I’ve been there which seems like ages. It’s such a special place, and it’s best in the summertime. It’s going to be perfectly sunny, and in the low 80s. We plan on swimming, eating at all our favorite spots and spending time with family and friends.
It’s been a while since I did a packing list, and this trip, one I’ve been so looking forward to, seemed like a good one to do one for! Truckee is a casual town, so I don’t bring anything too precious when I’m traveling there. In addition to these items I’ll bring a little active wear in case I decide to work out or if we go for a hike. Okay, let’s get into it.
Okay, so we’re seeing a lot of denim here. But, really, what’s new? I feel like I have enough non denim pieces to round it out. Plus, like I said before, we’re going to the mountains, so nothing precious. I did throw in a dress, for good measure. I finally ordered myself a dress from Sotela, and I have to say, I love it. It’s the perfect weight: light enough for summer, heavy enough to layer in the winter. Plus the tencel fabric is low maintenance and not too fancy which I love.
I’m on the fence about whether I’m over packing or under parking (we’ll be there Saturday afternoon through Wednesday evening). It’s well-documented that I don’t mind repeating outfits, so if I do, great. I do like to have some options for the inevitable BBQ sauce spill, though. Fingers crossed between this, and some leisure/athletic wear I’ll be covered. I think this chronic overpacker is covered though! Here’s the details if you’d like to shop anything you see above!
