A little update…

Apologies for the radio silence the last couple weeks!

After a few busy weekends when I couldn’t get any blog work done, and feeling tired and focused on other things in the evenings after work, I was left feeling uninspired. Plus, I’ve been getting to work on my new site (new name and all are decided!) It’s hard to put effort into something you know will be changing soon.

I’m planning to have the site up and running next week, so long as the URL change doesn’t give me too big of a pain. I’ll be working on it after work and all weekend, so fingers crossed! I think I’ll post on Friday to officially announce the change, and of course I’ll be posting on social media too. I’m feeling really good about it.

So, a little update…

B bought a camper!

That baby is ours, and we took it out for it’s first spin two weeks ago at Cape Lookout State Park. It was rainy, which was the perfect weather to really put it to the test. Everything worked great, and let me tell you – it’s so nice to not be sleeping on the ground. We’ll have so many adventures with this in the future, and I’ll be sharing them here on the blog for sure! (Also, check out this photo below… the beach was SO foggy, you could only see about 30 yards in front of you. But B caught some fresh dungeness crab on the beach which we had for dinner the next day – yum!)

I bought a new camera a few weeks back, and it’s been fun putting it to the test. I hemmed and hawed over whether I should just save the money and spend it on a new lens for my Nikon, but I really wanted something smaller for travel, and with image stabilization for video. I love my Nikon dearly, and it’s not going anywhere, but was ready for something new to play with. All these photos were taken with it, and while I’m still getting used to it (I haven’t used a zoom lens in so long!), I’d say it’s performing pretty well!

In just 16 short days, I’ll be jetting off to NYC with my friend Katie! Having never been to the city before, and not having gone on a big trip in quite some time, I’m excited to get out and adventure! Do you have any favorite spots or must-sees in NYC? We’ve got a long list going, but I’d love to hear your suggestions, too!

I recently purchased a few items for my fall wardrobe. I’m moving away from a true capsule, and am excited to share with y’all what I come up with. It’s going to be a bit of a change, but I’m excited. I’ve also purchased quite a few green beauty items recently, and plan on sharing those in a video soon.

So, that’s what’s going on around here. I’m starting to get back on my feet and excited about blogging and vlogging. I’ve always blogged because I enjoy it, so when I start to not enjoy it, I really try to think about the why. Once I know that, I can kick it back into gear. Soul-searching, check. Now I’m back in action.

More to come, friends…

  • I can’t wait to see what’s in the works for you Stacy!

I love the camper, what a great idea. I’m with ya, not a fan of sleeping on the ground either. That looks like a great compromise!!

Yay for NYC!!!!!!! My fav city in the US. Can’t wait to see your pics. (Oh gosh, what are you going to pack?!)

    • Thanks Andrea! I’m quite excited for the changes myself :)

Cannot wait for NYC – crossing my fingers for nice fall weather! I’ve been thinking about what I’m going to pack for weeks now!
